ALWCA's exhibition committee is looking for an image you've made or are interested in making, which creates a sense of calm when seen by others. What do you see that brings you peace and tranquility?
The submission deadline is January 12, 2024, for a show in March 2024.
The location will be in the hallways at Huntsville Hospital.

This Exhibition is open to all ALWCA members.  

ARTIST ELIGIBILITY
  • Current ALWCA membership is the only requirement for submissions.
  • Please enter your submissions online through ALWCA’s Call for Entry.
DEADLINE AND FEE FOR SUBMISSION
  • The submission deadline is January 12, 2024, by midnight central time. 
  • Artists will be responsible for all shipping, insurance, and delivery costs of their artwork to and from the Exhibition.
EXHIBITION DATE IS MARCH OF 2024
VENUE: HUNTSVILLE HOSPITAL 
SPECIFICATIONS FOR ARTWORK
  • Limit of two (2) original artworks that respond to the exhibit's theme. 
  • Media must be 2D, with no glass, no dimension over 40 inches, and no weight over 25 lbs. For installation: all work must hang from picture hanging wire and be ready for hanging. Textiles and fiber art must be in a shadow box or behind plexiglass.
  • Because of the location, all work must be family-friendly.
  • This Exhibition will be juried by ALWCA's exhibition committee. 
  • Judging will be done by JPEGs online.
  • Limit two artworks. Submit only 1-2 images per artwork: 1 full view is required, and either one detail or one alternate view if necessary.
  • Note: If presented as a single art piece, multi-paneled artworks such as triptychs and diptychs will count as one artwork.
  • The digital images of your art must be in focus, cropped to feature only the work, free of watermarks or name imprints/signatures, and free of a time-date stamp.
  • Submitted images and online documentation of the Exhibition and printed exhibition materials will be used in the jurying process.
  • Please photograph your 2D work before you have it framed. If the only image you have of your artwork is framed, please use image editing software to crop the frame out of the image.
FILE UPLOAD REQUIREMENTS
  • File format: JPEG only
  • File dimensions: 1500 pixels or greater on the shortest dimension
  • File resolution: 300 ppi/dpi
  • File size: 5MB maximum
BIO AND ARTIST STATEMENT
  • Artists may submit up to a 250-word biography and a 250-word artist statement. 
  • You may adjust each length, but stay within 500 words total. 
  • Your biography and artist statement are needed for promotion.
SALE OF WORK 
The Hospital Arts in Medicine Coordinator has suggested a 10% donation to the Arts in Medicine program (AIM) if a work sells while up in the Hospital.
