Alabama Women's Caucus for Art

CALL FOR ART
"The PlaceS We GO"

ALWCA MEMBER SHOW

Picture
“The Places We Go” is an exhibition organized by the Alabama Women’s Caucus for art (ALWCA). This exhibition was created for a location where people may be spending hours, days, weeks, or even months confined to unfamiliar spaces. They are missing the spaces that are comforting and familiar to them. The artists, all members of ALWCA, were asked to consider what images they could think of and create that depict tranquil places or states of mind to reflect on hope, loss, love, or growth. In the ‘artists’ call,’ the exhibition committee asked,
What is a space or a place that brings you comfort and hope? What images could you create that would help a viewer travel to and experience this space, even if it is only in their imagination? Will you create these images, and invite the viewer to come along?
