Phoebe Burns

Picture
Phoebe Burns is a multidisciplinary artist, who resides in her hometown of Huntsville, Alabama. She experiments with different art mediums and art forms to push the possibilities of art. She is a recent graduate of the University of Alabama, where she attended for six years. She earned undergraduate degrees in B.S. of Computer Science and a BFA of Digital Art and Photography with Honors. One of her many mentors is the internationally known, award-winning Chip Cooper. Currently, she is being mentored by Cynthia Wagner, another multidisciplinary artist who specializes in photography and mixed media. Phoebe's photography uses a heavy amount of symbolism, surrealism and conceptualism. Her Mixed Media uses figurative abstraction and experimental techniques. These experimentations range from purposefully ripping materials, splattering paint and even burning paper . The ways she has used the mediums have been described as bold and thought provoking due to her original style and ideas. The objective of her art is to create conversation amongst individuals on topics that, she feels, need to be discussed.
